Since the DualSense seems like an iteration on the DualShock 4 design and there's no official wireless adapter (I don't like using Bluetooth), I decided to try an Xbox Series controller instead. But I don't love its d-pad/layout, and it doesn't have analog triggers if you need those.

I ended up digging out an old Wii U Pro Controller and pairing it to the Mayflash Magic-NS adapter from my Switch, and found that to be a big improvement in comfort/accuracy over the DS4. I liked what the controller could do, but never the controller itself. What pushed me over the edge is that I started playing Celeste, and ended up with severe cramping/finger pain from using that awful thing for several hours. What I will say is that I finally stopped using my DualShock 4 this weekend, and my hands are thanking me for it. So that's another reason to consider upgrading. I didn't find 360 controllers very comfortable for long stretches of time, either - particularly the wireless ones with the battery pack. But while Steam Input is great, those controllers are never quite as hassle-free as using an official Xbox pad. Gyro aiming, too - if you'd consider a DualShock 4, DualSense, or Switch Pro Controller. You're definitely missing out on having a functional d-pad and good buttons/triggers if you're still using a 360 controller.

However, they are small nitpicks that you call improvements. Once you get used to one it's hard to switch because of how good they are. They are not better than each other, just different really. I remember every time I moved on to a newer Xbox controller.
